Crazy sill fun

Yet another installment of

CrinkleChristmas!

Can you believe it?  Two days to go till Christmas.  Presents are under the tree and a few left to wrap.  Pies baking in the oven.  Silly and crazy nights with beloved friends (last night).  To all of you out there in bloggersville:

I wish you a very EXTREMELY Joyous Christmas (or Holiday... depending on what you celebrate ;P)

Hark see the red

Session Four of

CrinkleChristmas!

Yet another great day leading to Christmas.  My husband is ever so kind to his crazy wife, every Christmas he takes me to the department stores and lets me wonder around taking in all the Christmas sights.  This year sadly there was nothing to see.  I walked into the store hoping to take in the wonder and glitter that cover's this season and it was all but gone.  There was one and a half aisles of  misplaced Christmas items.  There were three stockings, not stocking holders, less then a dozen individual ornaments.  I went to another store and they had one shelf left all Clearanced...

I guess it is a good thing I don't need anything last minute for Christmas!

All the same it is yet another great day for celebrating Christmas.

Deck the malls with boughs of holly

Yet another day brings us closer to the hustle of Christmas.  I love walking into a decked out mall just a few days before Christmas.  Seeing all the people roam about, Christmas music over head and a Santa Clause, in an odd and slightly creepy tradition, have lines of children sit on his lap.

So I challenge you to take a moment and enjoy the season in whatever, probably less crazy, way you would like but for now you can enjoy another installment of

CrinkleChristmas!

"No, Aunt Bethany, those are the Christmas lights."

My second installment of

CrinkleChristmas!

And on it will go.  At this point in the month I so desperately want to do Christmas-y things but I have done most all of them.  I start watching all the Christmas movies as soon as December starts.  Decorations are up and beautiful before December has come.  Then I start a baking rampage... Never has so much flour been used in one month and it is never enough.  I can never have too many cookies, though I don't like to eat the (I know I am insane, but it is the only dessert I don't like... that and wedding cake but no body really likes wedding cake), I can never bake to many pies (eating too many is a whole other story).

Keep me informed of other Christmas traditions I should have or actives I have missed.

And yes, apparently I am in a lot of pain?

"I always wanted to be a kid"

No matter your opinion of the Holiday you have to admit the season in upon us!  And with that I took on a challenge.  From now till Christmas I will be wearing Christmas apparel.  No, I do not have my 25 Shirts of Christmas, though I am jealous of you Mrs. Ladd, but I will be wearing thing that are festive and make me feel in the season and all that.  Here is today's and the first installment of
Crinkley Christmas!

Mood Sweater

Do you ever get in a particular mood because of clothes?  Maybe it is the High School actress in me but when I put on clothes I almost become a character.  In this particular outfit I felt like old country money.  You know deep georgia accent and a girl who knows here way round a plot of land and horses.  None of these things are true about me but I couldn't help but try my best at a southern accent on occasion, so we all know: I am terrible at "southern".  Chris turned to me and asked, "I'm sorry but what is THAT supposed to be?"  I couldn't help but face the truth once more: I cannot do a southern accent if my life depended on it, only enough since I have been south of the Mason Dixon line for a great portion of my life.

Oh well, I will have to give up my dreams of ever being a fully rounded actress capable of so many different accents.

An average Wednesday?

An average day... you know taking your sister's engagement photos.  Happens all the time right?

Obvious by the photos I was super happy be the one they chose to capture those moments.

Insert Movie Montage Here

So I love fall, all things cold and brisk.  I have shared this many times and I will continue to share, trying to convince and just share the love of fall and winter.  It may be the build up to Christmas... yes, I REALLY love Christmas.  I don't love the commercialism, no the sometimes whining kids, no the extra bills that come around.  But swell of memories that swirl through my brain with each scent.  Pulling the pumpkin pie out of the oven much like my mother used to do for my every birthday, (not a fan of b'day cake) the smell and sounds of crackling bacon before the croissant breakfast that no matter how full you are you still have another, the hands wrapped tightly about a hot chocolate as you have the best cheap date ever: driving around looking at Christmas lights, the shots of flour that seem to slowly cover you as small family members try to "help" with baking... it is the cliche movie moments, including the arguments that WILL happen.  It is my husband and my tradition of spending Christmas Morning snuggled up on the couch watching Love Actually and Christmas night with a few of our close friends who couldn't make it home for the holidays.

Yea, I'm a little excited.

I recently acquired this skirt and sweater.  I had to pair them together.  I really didn't have a choice after getting a taste of my "friends" styled 90's apparel, I was hooked.   So once more I pulled it out again with a little modern sprinkles .  I hope you get some nice flash backs...

Shh... it's a secret

That I am telling the whole world. . .
How is it still considered a secret you ask?  Deal with it "because I said so" and no I am not Diane Keaton.
So, here's the deal.  I'm finally going to tell you what happened!

I wrote a 50k novel in the 30 days of November (along with lots of other people, with the NaNoWriMo group, but they are not as awesome as me... cause it is me).  Long sleepless nights, endless staring at the computer wonder "WHAT am I DOING?!?", and wondering how truly terrible it will really be.

But alas, it is done and it is awesome if nothing else to be able to say, "I wrote a novel."

On to the reason you came:

Do you remember that shirt and pants that I wore for two days on a trip?

Well, here's it with the sweater.  Simple and easy and took up about the space of a small purse to pack: awesome!  ; P

Here's to wish you a happy weekend!

The last day

Got to love when you can pack small and look good.  I recently had to go on a trip and found this little black shirt and these perfectly awesome skinny jeans as my key.  I wore them both the two days I was there.  All I did was change the over lay.  Once with a sweater and another time with this top to dress it up a bit.  My goal when I pack is to take as much as needed and as little as possible all at the same time.  Though I do respect the goal of packing everything, "never be too safe".  I hope the last day of November is treating you well!

Silly's the best everything

Do you every just want to be silly?  I love to be silly.  I can't do it all of the time or no one would take me seriously. . . and being a wedding photographer I have to be at least a little silly.  So today, I am silly!  I decided to break what was given to me as a dress, I modified it and it is now a shirt!

Hello it's me again. . .

It's Black Friday... I think this "holiday" gets a bad rap.  I go out every year, never for big ticket items but I enjoy the people rushing around, the event, the spectacle of it all.  I enjoy watching a mother of four wiggle way past a large group of people to lay her hands on that desktop she wanted.  I enjoy the men in line up front holding the basket as if were a nest of small children.  YES, some people go crazy in sane: this I don't understand but it is fun to watch an almost animal instinct come out in people (pretty sure someone should do, if they haven't already, a study on the effects of Black Friday on our culture.   Well to those out there who now resting from your adventures early this morning I wish you: rest well.  To the rest of you: I hope that your Black Friday is exactly what you wish it to be!

Quick, Simple, Gone.

Simple.  Not always on my list but when I'm in a rush it is my best friend.  You don't have to go elaborate to look cute but it can be fun.  Not so much fun when in a tush though.

I often start an outfit with one piece.  Something I really want to wear.  This particular outfit: was the greenish sweater.  I recently got it and I wanted to make it's debut.  Then based on the sweater and how it was going to lay I chose the pants, then the undershirt because of it's neckline then came the boots (had to be boots since it's that time of year), head band and necklace.  It all came together in less then five minutes!

Quick, simple, gone.  Can do.  Go do!  Have fun see what happens in 5 minutes or less... if nothing else it could be super silly!

Sweater + comfy skirt = awesome

Today you are blessed with a multitude of things.  You excited?  First, you are blessed with me as we all know is your favorite thing in all the world.  Second, really bad pictures... I was too lazy this week to do anything about them.  Third and most importantly apparently you get a super creepy me if these bad pictures (or my husband) are to be trusted.

Holiday season...

By Rachel Abi

It was the Friday before Thanksgiving and all in the house were hustling and bustling...  Doesn't quite have the same ring to it.  This Friday I am taking to slow down take a breath enjoy my surroundings before jumping on the long laundry list of things to do before the Day.  Maybe I can hide away.

What about you?  What are you doing this holiday?

All in one

This is one of those outfits that makes me feel so pretty and somehow still comfortable.  I am not sure how they manage this but I'm all for it, twice!

Rule breaker, heart taker... don't you mess around?

Sorry about the bad pictures, we were in a rush to go to dinner and apparently my husband had momentary blindness... but you can get the gist of the outfit, well partially anyway.   Rule broken: A traditional sleek outfit with a loud pop of color.

And yes, this is my best Hannibal Lector impersonation... apparently.

I feel silly, Oh, so Silly!

Fashion is fun.  It is the one aspect of my life I can wear the ridiculous, looking awesome I might add, and I am not ridiculed.  If I decide to act silly... it is not accepted, not that it stops me.  But I pull out tutu and so long as you pair it well you can be celebrated!  So here's to fashion!  Here is to celebrating different!  Here is to having fun with who you are and what you wear!

I feel pretty, Oh so pretty

Not so much witty and gay... but feeling pretty's alright on it's own.

This one might become a "default outfit" for the fall...

It is so much fun and it was super easy to put together.  So I usually like to start with one article of clothing and then pair the rest together to finish the outfit.  This outfit started with the outer layer top and then went from there, got it all out in less than 5 min, I love quick outfits!

Flourish and blotts

Sorry about the pictures, we were on our way out and took a little too quick of a shot.

My lovely and awesome plaid skirt is making a show case again but now paired with my newly thrifted floral button up sweater.   Rocking more than one type of pattern is one of my favorite rules to break!
