Shh... it's a secret

That I am telling the whole world. . .
How is it still considered a secret you ask?  Deal with it "because I said so" and no I am not Diane Keaton.
So, here's the deal.  I'm finally going to tell you what happened!

I wrote a 50k novel in the 30 days of November (along with lots of other people, with the NaNoWriMo group, but they are not as awesome as me... cause it is me).  Long sleepless nights, endless staring at the computer wonder "WHAT am I DOING?!?", and wondering how truly terrible it will really be.

But alas, it is done and it is awesome if nothing else to be able to say, "I wrote a novel."

On to the reason you came:

Do you remember that shirt and pants that I wore for two days on a trip?

Well, here's it with the sweater.  Simple and easy and took up about the space of a small purse to pack: awesome!  ; P

Here's to wish you a happy weekend!

Hello it's me again. . .

It's Black Friday... I think this "holiday" gets a bad rap.  I go out every year, never for big ticket items but I enjoy the people rushing around, the event, the spectacle of it all.  I enjoy watching a mother of four wiggle way past a large group of people to lay her hands on that desktop she wanted.  I enjoy the men in line up front holding the basket as if were a nest of small children.  YES, some people go crazy in sane: this I don't understand but it is fun to watch an almost animal instinct come out in people (pretty sure someone should do, if they haven't already, a study on the effects of Black Friday on our culture.   Well to those out there who now resting from your adventures early this morning I wish you: rest well.  To the rest of you: I hope that your Black Friday is exactly what you wish it to be!

Holiday season...

By Rachel Abi

It was the Friday before Thanksgiving and all in the house were hustling and bustling...  Doesn't quite have the same ring to it.  This Friday I am taking to slow down take a breath enjoy my surroundings before jumping on the long laundry list of things to do before the Day.  Maybe I can hide away.

What about you?  What are you doing this holiday?

Left but not forgotten

I love holidays... pretty much all of them.  Though I must say I don't get flag day.  Halloween is close to my heart, not for its history, interesting as it may be, not for the vandalism of rotten eggs, smelly as they may be, but it is a night when most everybody is forced into letting themselves free to be a child again (slutty, for some, child maybe but I still count it as a child... calling for some attention I'll have you).  If there is one large regret for growing up for me it is that I left most my imagination and freedom to be silly (well, more silly than I am) behind. The fact that when I play pretend with kids it is work to me makes me sad.  I miss being the kid that didn't see the box but instead saw... well, anything.

So here's to acting like a kid for a night!

Wells are chairs, right?

The most irritating ring on the cell phone is blaring announcing that it is time to get up yet again... only I don't want to, I know such a change from the normal #sarcasm.  Walking to my closet I deem that despite my going and picking up durrock, for the bathroom we are redoing, I will dress up-ish.  Is it my fault that I want to feel pretty, at least a little, when going to get essentially concrete and wire mesh?  Ok, so I am crazy but I'm ok with it so it's alright.

Dressed and dragging my poor husband out the door behind me I look around our yard and think, "where should I go today? I know that well looks ripe for the sitting!"

I love having stories behind accessories.  The bracelet I am wearing was given to by my dearest sister.  She and I lived with each other and shared a room for most of our life and between arguments and irritations we are best friends.  For the first time in our life we were separated for 3 months when she left me for the beauty that is Ireland and when she returned she gave me this bracelet (and 2 shirts)... I can't wear it without thinking of her, and I love it for that if nothing else!

This is what I wore Wednesday: thank pleated poppy.

Chick fill moo

Now today is just a silly post.  Late to posting this but Chris and I went to get the most awesome thing: Free food.

Chickfila cow appreciation day!

Aren't I perfect.  Aren't I vogue chic?  Isn't it the most amazing outfit you have ever seen!

I even blacked out an eye for the occasion!

For those who want fashion but are afraid of what that means. . .

Do you ever get up feeling a desire to look cute?  You look at other people's clothes and think, I would look cute in that but by the time you get home you are unsure of how to emulate or you try to make it your own and it doesn't work?   Do you feel overwhelmed by the thought of trying to revamp your closet because of the time and cost?

My goal is to get you to feel pretty and put together in with the least amount of effort, money and time.

I am going to show you what to wear... and what not to wear.

How the same basic outfit can go three days in a row without people knowing.

I am here to share the small truths that I have picked up along the way and I hope that you teach me more.

I can't promise that I will do anything different that others, I won't.
I can't promise that  I will be the best thing that has happened to your closet.

But I can promise we will have some fun on the way to a closet that you love and don't fear.
